Cam choices

I am going to change the cam out in a month, i have two choices that i am looking at. 233/233 or the 233/239 from TSP. I really want a loppie idle but also dont want to go through value springs every 10,000 miles. Any other sugestions on cams or which i should go with, on stock heads.

Re: Cam choices

What kind of curve are you looking for? Is it going to be a street/strip car?

Re: Cam choices

I want a cam that is "somewhat" streetable with a hell of a lope. Gives good numbers on the dyno, 400 rear hps, that is what i am looking for.

Re: Cam choices

The 233 and 233/239 are both good choices for cams. They should provide you with plenty of power and still stay streetable. I daily drive my MS3 and love it. It could be another one to look at, especially since you want it lopey and want to put down the power. We consistently see 60-65RW from the cam with all the bolt-ons on place.

If you are looking for a something a little more tame, I would look into either of the first two cams. We just finished up a car with the 233/239 and a set of PRC 5.3 heads and it picked up 94RW.

With any of these cams, I would go with a PRC dual spring kit(also includes seats, seals, tit. retainers).
Give us a call or email me if you have any questions!

Thanks!

Brian

Re: Cam choices

Ya, i have also looked into the MS3 cam. Yall are right down the street from me, I also live in lubbock! Now, full boltons, I have most of those, but not the Z06 intake "which will come some day", what should i expect with an LS1 intake?

Re: Cam choices

people are making good #'s with the futral f13--230/232. lopes hard and pulls like crazy on top end. definately recomend some dual springs and a good tune with it. my buddy made 405rwhp with stock heads and full bolt ons with this cam.

another vote for the f13 here...the f14 peaks a little higher than the f13 and has an almost identical curve

Re: Cam choices

I have a custom grind 234/236 and it's a little cold-blooded in the morning, but once warmed up you could daily drive the car. Make sure you consider LSA when choosing...
