Can I use a 3" Rubber Connector from a Hardware store for a Smoothe Bellow?

Can I use a 3" Rubber Connector from a Hardware store for a Smoothe Bellow?
Basically what the title says... I was thinking connect one end to the TB and the other to the MAF but I was wondering if this would be efficient in comparison to whats on there stock... I was also concerned of the angle the MAF is at in comparison to the TB... Maybe a 45 Degree Boot would be more sufficient or a 4" (over TB) to 3" (over MAF) connector?... I was thinking if it provided less restriction it would be a pretty cheap bellow...

Yes you can I used a Ferco From Home depot it was 5$ You will need to trim it up to get it to fit right. Throw it in the microwave for 30 seconds then it is easier to work with. I think mine was 3inch so it was a strech to get it on. If you can find a 4" (over TB) to 3" (over MAF) connector like you said that would be perfect.

That's what I did. Mine is just 3" tube from Home Depot, and I had to microwave it to get the rubber to soften up so it would make the angle. It's kind of sketchy, looks and feels like it would be a massive vacuum leak where it connects to the bottom of the MAF, but it actually doesn't leak at all. Use some soapy water to get it to slide onto your MAF and TB more easily.
Many people have said that this is an appearance mod, and will not flow more air. I could see both sides of this argument being right, as it probably is not going make the air flow more by eliminating turbulence, but then again maybe it does smooth out the air stream going into the engine. The way I figure it, I only spent $5 and I think it looks better, so it was worth it to me. Be forewarned, mine is huge pain in the *** to get back on if it comes off when I'm cleaning/checking my air filter.

this is a good cheap mod, $5 from harware store but i have heard that this mod isnt as efficient as the bellows being that it puts alot of strain on the MAF cauing pressure on the lid and people have told me that their lid has cracked becasue of this mod, i tried it myself but took it off when i heard this, the shape is a little different than the SLP bellows thats why, and btw its a little pain getting it to fit right over the TB.
Thats just my thoughts...

I would not suggest this- at all.
It's a PAIN to service with "smooth bellows", and there is ZERO (0) gain on a chassis dyno from smooth bellows.
It's certainly not worth it to me. In fact, I think more of a guy's car that I see that apparently is a H&C car and still has the factory bellows on it.
