cheap tire problem ?

Hey guys
I just got my tires installed, all 4 brand new tires from Goodyear. Right on my way home, I noticed a brand new BMW 330 wanting to race me and of course I took then challenge.
At the stoplight, ( i have an A4 btw) I mashed the throttle then it started to sway alittle from left to right, right to left, caught traction and went off smoothly.
The beginning part when my two rear wheels swayed from side to side, kinda shocked me (in a paranoid sense)
With my old tires, it never had done that.
The tires were kinda cheap, 66 bucks each.. also had an alignment done. Could it be the tires ? thanks

Yes. The $66 tires are definitely the problem. Those cheap tires are probably not that soft making them pretty crappy, especially off the line. I plan on spending about $200 a tire this fall.

Don't exceed 100mph for more than like 20 seconds at a time, or you'll risk heat separation and blow one or more out.

There's a reason most V8 F-Bodies came with Z rated tires and no speed limiter. If the buyer opted for non z-rated, they got a 113mph speed limiter

Whoa, those tires are too narrow, too tall for your car, and they're not even speed-rated, I assume you bought used tires if they were Goodyear and $66/each?

I assume you have a Z28, so the stock tire size is P245/50ZR16.

My car used to sway side to side under hard acceleration when I had my worn Goodyear Eagle RS-As, now that I have the BFGs, that no longer happens.

I got mine for $603 out the door and they're a GREAT tire, check them out.

Brand new Goodyears were $253 each , so that's why I got the BFGs.

yea, its the Z28 with the pathetic P225s. I was planning on purchasing some new 17" rims later on in the future (6 months), so in the mean time, i'm not going to do any hard accelerations or racing on that matter. I love her too much to risk anything. Driving it under normal conditions should be safe, right ? If i want to do some hard racing here and there, is it recommended ? Would it be dangerous ? Thanks bros.
I'm soooooooooooooooooo frustrated.
at myself of course.

Hmmmm.. being a tire guy... I would have to say.. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?
By running tires like that you are increasing your chances of failure. Dont you remember the saying "Theres alot riding on those tires". Its true.

Best cheap bet.. Yokohama A-1000.. Tirerack.com.. less than $100 per tire for the correct size.. shipping for less than $50 Installed for about $75..
so thats less than $525 for a tire that will not fail you and that you can enjoy your car in.. SAFELY... I would want to physically harm any tire shop guy that suggested those tires as I would see it as a personal threat. I suggest reading just a bit on tirerack.com about tires.. the ratings.. their meanings.. and then some reviews..

good luck.... ugh.. spooky...

No shiat!

And what the HELL was the SHOP thinking, too???

The shop should have at least some kind of common sens not to even sell totally wrong size tires for a customer's car. No matter if he even insists on putting them on.

My suggestion is to get rid of the tires ASAP and get a set of correct size tires. Heck, buy used ones if you are planning to get a new set of wheels/tires in the near future.

But don't drive with those tires, please...
