Cheatr cam

Anyone using this cam? I want to keep my stock exhaust manifolds for the stealth look. Is there any other stealth cams for stock manifolds?

What do you mean, "stealth" cams? Non-stock?

If your exhuast manifold is going to restrict your cam's performance gains, than take it out, otherwise, suck it up.

I was looking into them for a bit. I asked a question on here about how much sticking with stock manifolds would hold you back if I had a decent sized cam installed. Here's the consensus.

To me, the cheatr cam, while admirable in it's goal, is too little of a gain for me to warrant purchasing.

I think a few people got right at 400rwhp with this cam + some worked heads with an LS6 intake manifold and stock manifolds.

Not a good idea unless you ABSOLUTELY need to. You're leaving power on the table. If you want to sound stock, that's one thing, but if you want to pop your hood and look stock, too, then that means no aftermarket TB, no aftermarket intake, no headers, etc.

You could make more power with a hidden nitrous setup for cheaper

If you want to "sound stock" and not worry about power, then obviously a FAST 90/90 setup, aftermarket heads, LTs, and a cam on a 116+ LSA and not much overlap would get you there.

If you absolutely want this setup that looks and sounds stock, then I'd recommend some ported LS6 heads (Patriot Performance, TSP, etc) and a .040" gasket to bump up the compression along with the CheaTR or another cam that doesn't lope too much.

You can get close to that with bolt-ons.

LPE has the GT2-3, MTI has the Stealth cams also.

I have a friend running the GT2-3 (which is not much larger than the LS6 cam) the regular bolt ons and ported heads and he put down 400 hp with an LS1. I's imagine with an LS2 you'd be well over that. The cool thing is that you'd think his car was bolt on only.
