Question Clear MTI lid questions.

Where can I find one that comes with a breather element? I've only found one place that sells it and the breather element isn't included.

I bought mine from the above mentioned website and it came with the breather thing. The only reason I keep the lid is because it looks cool. It's the lowest quality lid I've seen.

I agree with the guy above.

Mine looks bad a$$ but the fit compared to my cheap-o whisper lid is awful.

it does look good though

Question

What about the carbon-fiber lid? Is it poor quality as well? How about the fit quality? I hear that all these after-market lids are poor quality wise, is this true? Should I just buy a cold-air-induction setup instead?

Which do you guys recommend? I just want what is best for my car.

Question

Yeah I've heard those things as well. Anyone know of the cold air kits? Are they worth our time?

From what I hear, the clear ones are crap when it comes to durability.

The plain black ones, however, are rock solid, and fairly low cost ($99 on GP)

If your heart is set on tht clear one, get it. But if you're going to get one of the black ones, get the Direct-Flo. It flows as well as any other lid, and it's built really well. I had one on my old Z28. You can get one here: http://www.ls1motorsports.com Pic of it here: http://www.ls1motorsports.com/LidRedLrg.htm

I've had the MTI clear lid for a couple of years now. I've never had any cracks or any trouble. Maybe I got lucky, but I'm happy with it.
