Clunking with clutch in, shifting gears?
Okay... is this normal?
2002 M6 SS.
Sitting idling, pressing down the clutch all the way.
Shift down to second from first, clunk noise, then I have to push semi hard to shove it in gear, it feels like something is blocking it from going to second.
Every gear after that, it goes in, but with pretty decent force, and a CLUNKING noise. Sounds like... back when I had my Cavalier with an AT, and I had the transmission pressure so far up it would clunk between gears.

I have noticed mine makes a clunking noise also, but has done this since brand new. I assume it is normal. Seems to come from the rear when I do hear it. Realy have no idea if normal but let you know you aren't the only one.

Yeah, my new Z28 that has 1700 miles does it too. I'm wondering if this only happens with Hurst Short shift setup, or is on all 6sp.
I'm going to try changing the trans. fluid to syn to see if it helps. However, I think is highly unlikely.

Why must the poor man's vette do it?
Any idea what causes it? It's annoying.

Are you sure it isnt the skip shift blocking second. I hate that damn thing. Mine makes a clunk too. All it is is a little slack in the drive line. The drive shaft twists either way just a little bit, it wont hurt anything.
