Clutch question?

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/

If I wanted to put the Z06 clutch on my LS1 SS, does anyone know if the stock GM parts would fit my car? I ask because I can get a new flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disk and throw-out bearing for just under $350...and I'm really unsatisfied with the Centerforce.

GM Z06 Clutch Package # 12570806

Throw-out bearing # 15705563 (GM describes as: Clutch Release Fork Bearing/Retainer -- I'm assuming they are one in the same)

I have heard of people upgrading to a zo6 clutch before.

but did I read you right you already upgraded to a centerforce?
I have a centerforce that I upgrade from stock and I think it is awesome! it grips real good. doesn't the pedal push back to hard for you are something?

My grandfather right down the street has 2 Zo6s (01 and 03) and I think the feel of my centerforce WAY better. it can also hold a lot more power i believe.

so yeah i think you can do the swap but keep the centerforce around so you can put it back in when the new one wears out.

I have a '98 SS and had the Z06 clutch and upgraded hydraulics installed last weekend. The guy that did it also made the master cylinder adjustable. He did a great job! My hydraulics were junk from the get-go. Now it shifts like new. I'm so thankful for Z06 parts.

This might help, some parts and approximate prices:

12565145 - '01 -'02 Fbody Slave Cylinder -74.80
12570277 - '01 -'02 Fbody Master Cylinder - 105.97

12570806 - 2002 Z06 (LS6) Clutch kit with Pressure Plate, Disc & Flywheel - $304.95

Do not over look upgrading your hydraulics.

Good Luck
