Unhappy Code P1415, Need a little Help

I finally figured out why the SES light was on. I got the car scanned today and the code was P1415, AIR Pump Circuit Malfunction. The guy said there were two codes for it, and they were the same. The code normally comes on about 30 miles after being resetted. Anyone know what I should do, is this something the dealer needs to fix? Thanks

P1415 is the driver's side air check valve. Do a search in this forum for P1416 - that's the passenger side, fix is the same.

Ok, I changed the check valve, and the SES light came back on. It seemed to work fine when I took it off, nothing out of the ordinary, any other ideas?

Did you delete the code or reset the PCM? If not, it may take a few cycles before the light goes off.

My engine light came on last week and I had it checked this morning, I had 2 codes and both were the P1410 code which is the AIR system I forgot what piece exactly. I just installed my Hooker Headers last week and I don't have the AIR tubes hooked up right now. Is that what is causing my code? Can it be fixed by removing the entire AIR system or do I need to take my car to a shop and have the AIR tubes bent to match my headers?

P1410 is the air pump. The pump is used to lower emissions on start up. During closed loop operation, the PCM activates the air pump. The PCM then monitors the H02S voltages & short term fuel trims on both banks. If the PCM determines that both banks didn't respond as expected P0410 activates. If only one sensor responded P1415 or P1416 activates. If you want to remove your air system here's a link: http://www.ls1camaro.net/sections.ph...icle&artid=70.

Turns out the passenger side was bad, not the driver's side. In would let barely any air through, and it could go through the wrong direction. I'm not suprised I got the wrong code, since both check valves are on the same hose and there is only one sensor for both, so I guess the computer just guesses which one it is thinking the dealership would check both.
