Cold Weather = Wont Go Into Gear In Morning?
I've got a 2002 SS, M6, with ALMOST 5,000 miles on it.
This morning was the coldest it's been in a while, here, in Chesapeake Virginia. 35 degrees. I know some of you guys say thats not very cold, but to this Virginian, it's damn cold.
Well, I went outside, started my car... waited a minute or so so that I could use my wipers to take frost off my windshield, the rear defroster to warm up and such.
I push in the clutch, go to move the shifter in first, and it wont suck it into gear. So I disengage the clutch, and try again. No luck. I tried second through sixth, and no luck.
I remembered what someone said about the syncros being funny with these things, so I revved the engine as I tried to push it in any gear, still no luck. (I dont know anything about how a manual transmission works, so dont blame me if that makes no sense.)
So... I began to pump the clutch pedal up and down, twenty or so times, and tried again. No luck. I was thinking that I wouldnt be going to work today at this point.
But... then I pushed the clutch in, and more forcefully pushed it in first, and after a little click like something finally aligned, and... I was in gear.
Thinking maybe I was back to normal, I disengaged the clutch, re-engaged it, and back to the same problem that was happening all over again!
I decided to risk it, force it in first, then start my drive, and I didnt have any clutch/shifting problems, the whole ride to work.
Was it the cold weather? Is this normal? What can I do to remedy this? Thanks for the help, in advance!

i have a 98 M6 with 25k miles and mine does the same thing in cold weather i just use force and then when the tranny warms up everything works fine, but the 1st couple of shifts into 2nd the car wants to jump out of gear but only in 2nd. I just the tranny not being warm and fully lubed is the problem

If I let the car warm up for 5 minutes then come out to drive, should it of warmed up? Or will the tranny only warm up with use, not just the car running?
I'm afraid of there being something something wrong with my tranny, and at a green light not being able to move =)
