Post Convertibles..how much slower are they?

I was looking at getting an 02'' T/A Vert that i saw at my local Pontiac dealer. It was Black w/ A4. Was woundering how much slower they are than the coupe LS1's and what they ran in the 1/4...I have never driven an LS1 car btw and have only owned a V6 so far, so this will be a big step up for me..thanks

With my 01 Cobra vert and the same mod's as my buddies 01 Cobra coupe I was exactly .10 slower than him.

13.28 to a 13.18

Hope that helps some in your concern with vert to coupe.

LS1 A4 verts run mid 13.'s "GMhightech mag."

'Fraid that question isn't quite as easy to answer. The LS1 engine's power, while always very impressive, isn't consistent from vehicle to vehicle. It is possible for the 'vert to be faster than a coupe.

All else being equal, the 'vert is a little heavier and should run a little slower (.1-.2?)

I've got an '02 Z28 convert. My best e.t. at the track with just a few cheap mods was 13.4@105.2mph on the factory tires. I can run right with most of the hardtop Z28's with reaction time usually calling the race. There are a few really fast high 12's Camaro's there, but they can't drop the top and cruise. I'm glad I got the convertible, I think the F bodies look better with a ragtop.

Even if you loose a tenth at the strip, the 'top down' feature is way worth it! There's something about blazing down the road in a badazz car, top down, tunes cranked up, that makes ya feel good.

The ragtop is nice when the weather is nice.
For me, I went with T-Tops. When the weather is good, off they come. When the weather is cold (happens once a year in Michigan. From about October 15th to May 15th) I am able to look up at the sky. Also nice to see the traffic lights!
