Post Cost 'O 427

What's the cost to turn the LS1 into a 427? I know John L. wants 30k for it but that is mostly labor costs probably. I just want parts and how much it should cost to bore it professionally.

check out, www.motorsporttech.com i think they sell stroker kits. Most of the performance sites do. As for the bore, aluminum blocks are damn expensive to have bored, thats if you can. Call around to some local performance shops in you area, they should know.

For the cost of boring it you could supercharge it. On my Z with heads, small cam and a Procharger I have 550hp and 475tq. More than enough power to get in trouble.

I'm pretty sure that the aluminum blocks actually use pressed-in steel sleeves for the cylinders, so whether or not you can have the sleeves bored, I'm not sure?? (sorry ) Maybe you can get the block re-sleeved with larger bored sleeves though?? Again, I'm not too sure, but that's something to look into.

No, Lingenfelter nor anyone else turns your LS1 into a 427. They prepare a new block for you.

The "resleeving" that MTI does, along with their 4" stroker kit, will get you a 422. Not quite the same thing.

And yes it is expensive. Very.
