Lightbulb Cup Holder Mod

Just thought I'd share this little mod I did to the main cup holder. I put a cup of coffee in the holder going to work in the mornings. I did this on my '95Z cup holder without a problem. On the LS1 holder the cup would just balance on the upper lip in the hole. One day I spilled coffee in the shift boot. I took a black lid off a large spray can that fit in the hole perfectly. I trimmed the bottom off till the top of it was flush with the top lip on the inside of the cup holder hole. I also put a hole in the center of it to allow me to pull it out with a finger. Now a larger cup (coffee) will sit just right in the hole and not spill. Also almost has a factory look and I can put small objects under it that are hidden from site or throw it in the center console when not needed. Later>>>>>>

That's not a bad idea. I see you have an M6 too. I can't stand to have anything that sticks out in that hole, it always gets in the way of my arm while shifting etc. I use it primarily for holding spare change, cd remote, and other small various objects. When I have drinks in my car I make sure they have a top on them, and I use the passenger side cup holder, which isn't really that far away.

Pics

I just use a regular coffee cup so it has no lid. I will try and get a few pics tomorrow, if I can figure out how to post them. It is just a spacer that is flush with the lip that is an inch from the top of the cup holder.

Just use the passenger holder ... completely out of the way and still an easy reach.

Or go to Mickey D's and put the cup between your legs and then sue. No need to worry about mod money anymore.
