DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER PERFORMANCE MODIFICATIONS DONE TO YOUR VEHICLE?

I HAVE A CUTOUT, AND I AM THROWING A SES CODE, BUT IT ISNT BECAUSE OF THE CUTOUT. IT IS BECAUSE MY CAR IS RUNNING TOO LEAN.

HMM, THE SENSOR HE MIGHT BE TALKING ABOUT, WOULD BE THE 02 SENSOR.

BUT I DON'T SEE HOW A CUTOUT WOULD MESS THAT UP, WHERE IS YOUR CUTOUT LOCATED?

The only way to properly answer your question is to know what code the computer is throwing. That's why the light comes on. The computer wants to give you a message... "The [xxxxx] sensor supplied me with a reading that was out of the normal operational perameters." From there you can diagnose what to check. Otherwise you just have to take your mechanic's word for it. It could be anything.

Check your air hose leading to your O2 sensor. I had to move it one time which made a kink in the hose where I couldnt see it. Fried the O2 sensor.

If your cutout is located after your cat, then it's not the cutout causing the code. Only way a cutout would cause a code is if you put it before your cat, which would mess up the readings in the pre-cat sensor. Seeing as you have an LS1 though with dual cats I'm assuming it's after the y-pipe so the cutout isn't the problem, I don't care what the guy says.

Chances are it's an O2 sensor or something, you just need some more specific readings.

next time the light comes on, find a local board member who can pull the code. Or just take it back to the same guy and ask him for specifics. I wouldn't mod a car that wasn't 100%. But that's me.

Might want to have AutoZone read your code and post the code here if you want more info.

I've never heard anybody throwing a SES just because of a cutout...

Like 2002Z28SSConv said, it would be a good idea to take care of the reason for the code before modding your car more, though.

Good luck!
