did this hurt me??
Well when I got my car I went to the track and ran a 13.69.
Then about a week later I went to change the filter and do the free ram air mod, and seen that the rubber piece that connects the lid to the maf was half way off and was tucked almost like inside out and you could tell that it has been that way a long while. So I fixed it and took it for a ride and it was a lot more responsive. I read on here about how important air intake is so I was wandering if you guys think that would have made big affect on my time or not really noticable? I mean the thing was probably only letting half the air, so I think it had to have made some factor on my time.

don't know if it did, but i say it could. Considering it was inside the maf, that means it wasn't getting the full potential of air. But then again at full throttle it makes a pretty good vacume. What i would be worried about is that it sucked in some dirty air.

If the air came in before the MAF sensor then the air was monitored and it was just un filtered, it was just a lil warm from the engine bay. if it was after the MAF sensor then it would have been unmonitored and the air/fuel would have been off, like an LT1 with a torn elbow it makes a noticeable difference. It was before the MAF but it was getting air from the outside I think it just wasnt getting air. The way the rubber piece was folded it was just blocking the hole about half way like if you slid something between the hole and the MAF. Its hard to explain but it was before the MAF not after and it wasnt getting outside air.
