At about 2500 miles from my last oil change I had to use a quart of oil(mobil 1). I think I have to put in another quart because the low oil light just came on. It has only been about 6 weeks, I have not checked my parking spot yet but is it just a leak or something maybe worse. thanks.

 

is there a puddle of oil under your car? the more likely answer is you're burning oil. it's not uncommon for my car to use one quart per 3,000 miles. there are quite a few guys on the board with oil usage.

i really don't sweat it, since one quart low is at the bottom of the "ok" area on the dipstick, and i change my oil religiously at 3k miles. if you're really worried about it, there are a few fixes out there with mixed results, which include switching to a higher viscosity oil, or a mix of oils, and catch can/fuel filters installed in the PCV line. i'm sure others will elaborate on these fixes. i can't since i haven't tried them...

 

Don't sweat it. It's normal for LS1's to burn oil (some more than others) I have to add a quart once before every 3000 mile oil change. That low oil light lets me know like clockwork when I have 500 miles before and oil change. It's kinda funny.

 

Dont worry about it, most F bodys burn oil, some of them leak, but its not enough to worry about, mine leaks, but its only like maybe a 1/4 of a quart every 3000 miles. You'll be fine

 

Only leak I had was from the gasket on the drain bolt getting hard and cracking.
