Does anyone Know how to do this exhaust?
I was up at a car show and this 98 and up Z had dual muffler dumpping out before the rear end. I didn't think you could do that on these cars. Did he run his headers to cats to mufflers or did they simply cut the exhaust up by the cats and ran it back anyway it sounded nice like the old muscle cars did. Anyone has any ideals fire away.
Thanks

1. Buy a set of LT's - I'd go with Jet-Hots, they're the best deal for $540 shipped!
2. Buy a Dr. Gas 3" X-pipe (pipe itself, or preferably the kit cuz that'll make it easier) - about $220 after shipping from www.drgas.com
3. Buy two Dynomax 12" x 3" In/Out bullit race mufflers (about $40/ea at www.jegs.com)
4. Go to a good exhaust shop and have it all installed and have them make turndowns for the bullits and make sure they angle them either in a little if you want it to be a little quiter, or out a little, you do not want the turndowns facing straight down cuz that will cuz a ton of excess noise and rattling and shaking inside the car (or at least that's what i've heard)
The setup above is exactly what I have and it is goin on the car on Tuesday, I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

Jet Hot headers are the one's he was talking about. Jet Hot used to take the Hookers and coat them, but recently they designed their own headers after the hookers and made a few small changes on them. There are a lot of guys over here in TX with true duals. Go over to LS1.com in the Texas forum and PM Lane. He does a lot of the installs, and could give you some muffler recommendations. People are trying different mufflers all the time and getting different results.

yup, there have been a lot of guys around me getting this setup. There is a shop around here that is doing it for somewhere around $500 installed.

I have been thinking about this... I recently sold my 94 z, and I am trying to figure out what to get next (LS1 vs LT1). I am leaning towards the LS1 due to the configuration of the stock exhaust/cats. It seams that you can add shorty/mid length headers, leaving the cats in the stock position, and then making a true duel set up from there. Although If I go true duel, I will not have cats, but will put the stock set up back on for testing... another reason I would stay with shorty/mid length headers... easy re-install of stock parts.
