Drag radials

Drag radials
Been looking at a set of drag radials for my 98 t/a, and was wondering if there is any advantage to the BFG's over the Nittos? I'd be looking at the 255/50r/16 BFGs or the 245/50r/16 Nittos. There's only about a 7 dollar difference between the two from what I can see, so I'd just like to go with whichever one seems to hook better on the street. How many miles do DRs usually last, and will they work well in conjunction with stock-type Eagle F1's for daily driving? I don't autocross or anything so I'm just looking for decent handling and excellent straight line traction on the street. Also, how well do these stick in the rain/snow? Chicago weather can suck at times, so I want to make sure I won't be spinning all over the place like I do now sometimes .

The BFG's hook slightly better at the track but the Nitto's hook much better on the street. Also the BFG's are pretty dangerous in the rain and last about 1/2 as long as the Nitto's.The Nitto's are the way I plan on going.Good luck.

It's just the opposite here in Memphis. People in the West Tennessee F-Body Association prefer the BFG over the Nitto claiming over double the miles with the BFG, and about the same hook on both street and track with the appropriate break in.
So, I guess it's just a personal preference.

IMHO...the BFG's are alot stickier compound than the Nittos, but they wear out alot faster too. It's kind of a trade off...traction for mileage. If you do alot of commuting everyday the Nittos are a good street/strip tire. Having both in the past I can say that the BFG's will hook better...even on wet roads! ...but, If it's raining hard and there is standing water on the road they suck!
