dyno #'s

im guessing this is the right section...

i had my car dynoed, do the numbers seem low, what do u think?

327 rwhp 337 rwtq

those numbers are with the computer tuned with ls1 edit at the dyno shop. as well as the tranny had the shift points delayed for each gear and tranny stiffined, feels like a shift kit is in it now.

1999 z28 a4. fra, lid, 160 t-stat, bigger descreened maf, 82mm tb, Lt's, ory pipe, no cat, cutout, removed air and egr. I put in new plugs, new wires, and a new air filter before the dyno as well.

i ran 322/328 with mac mids, magnaflow catback, lid, and maf...no tune yet. id expect slightly higher with your mods and especially with a tune. ill be mad if thats all i get with a tune.

BTW ORY = no cats, no need to say both. ORY is Off Road Y-pipe.

Before my blower, mine turned 317 with only a lid and flowmaster cat back. I have to say that the headers did not make that big a deal, so that is probably where you got the extra 10.

Stab a cam in it. I just finished. What a piece of cake. The valve springs went in a while ago with the blower, but they really weren't that big of a deal...

All cars are different and all dynos are different. I can gain 10 hp just by going to a different shop's dyno. I take it this was a Dynojet?

Either way, those aren't bad numbers. Yes I've seen higher w/similar mods, but I've also seen lower. Do you have a base dyno to see where you began and how much you have gained from those mods?

I agree with Greed. Those aren't bad numbers.
And to the other 2 that I quoted you both have LS6 intakes. He's not showing one in his sig.
Besides that dyno numbers are just numbers to compare to after the next mods. I have beaten many cars at the drag strip that have better dyno numbers than I do.

Exactly. If your car started @ 298 hp then you have acheived a 29 hp gain from bolt ons. Now if it was 320 stock and only went up 10 hp with your mods, I'd be pissed.

Those numbers are right where they should be for your mods and being an automatic.

Let's breakdown the mods:

First of all, you have a 99 car, which has an LS1 intake manifold and 853 heads.

1999 z28 a4. fra, lid, 160 t-stat, bigger descreened maf, 82mm tb, Lt's, ory pipe, no cat, cutout, removed air and egr. I put in new plugs, new wires, and a new air filter before the dyno as well.

The Lid, LTs, full exhaust, and tune are really the only power-makers in there. Was it actually dyno-tuned (tuned, dynoed, retuned, redynoed, retuned, redynoed, etc) or just tuned, then put on the dyno?

Regardless, those numbers look about right for an auto car and those mods.

You can get an EASY 10-15 rwhp out of a dynotune on a bolt-on car.. IF you know what you're doing

I agree, and a dyno is just a tool.....the strip is where you see what your combo does compared to other similar cars. My beat up 98 w/176,000 miles on it runs 11.20's w/only 330 rwhp.

before I added the procharger to my car it made those exact numbers with slp lt lm1 and a carbon fiber lid and a smooth bellows. I didnt have a tune. I always thought those were decent numbers.
