Electric Coutout?

Re: Electric Coutout?
You'll get more power from headers with or without a cutout. With a cutout alone, you may gain 10 hp depending on what catback you're using. I recommend the DMH cutout. I had a McCord for a couple of years and I've now had my DMH for over a year and I like the quality of the DMH.

The cutout goes before the catback. What I was referring to is that the gains you'll see will depend on what catback you have now. If you're running a stock exhaust, you're gains will be more than if you were running something like a Magnaflo.

Re: Electric Coutout?
Most people, myself included, have a single cutout installed after the cats and before the muffler. The most popular location is before the exhaust pipe curves up over the rear axle. There is an indentation in the floor boards under the rear seat where you can angle the cutout up for more clearance. If you take a look at the pictures on DMHs website, you'll see what I'm talking about.
I have a friend that has dual cutouts on a Q-tech y-pipe and he's had lots of problems with it. There isn't much clearance up there and he's constantly scraping and breaking the electric motors.

I have the American Thunder on my car but I never actually dynoed with my cutout closed so I can't really tell you what the actual gains are but I can tell you that there is a large difference when I'm racing.
