Re: Real Dual Exhaust

Have any of you thought about doing away with that power and torque robbing "Y" pipe exhaust system and installing a real dual exhaust system on your car? You get a lot more performance. I have a real dual exhaust on my SS that exits out the rear of the car just like the regular stock pipes and it is quiet inside the car with no drone. Those that exit out under the car before the axle doesn't come close to my exhaust system. I can ride down the road and talk to my friend in the seat beside me or listen to the radio, because as I stated earlier, it is quiet inside my car. Now, outside is another story. I have a sound that no "Y" pipe exhaust system can touch. The sound that only a real dual exhaust system can deliver. I will never, NEVER use a "Y" pipes exhaust system on anything ever again. I'll go with a real dual exhaust system every time.
Dude, it's 3 in the morning and I might be seeing things, but you've made like the exact same post in 3 separate threads???? You must really love that dual and hate Y-pipes...

Anyway, I have a Loudmouth on my car right now and I love it. My best friend has a Corsa on his WS6 and it sounds decent, but not nearly as bad@ss as mine. A lot of it is personal preference, but I say go with a Loudmouth!

Make a GMMG!!!

You could make a GMMG style exhaust like I did. I think I ended up in it around $200 and I used Sweet Thunder mufflers ( same thing as the GMMG except I didnt get all stainless I got the aluminised steel) I have sound files on here someplace but the exhaust was brand new and the car was sitting still. 800 miles later and the tone is deffinetly better even that it was, I'll try record some and post them.

id be careful saying you have a GMMG type system, that system is patented and they will prosecute if you keep advertising it. just a fair warning man. i speak with them often and if were you id call it a custom chambered exhaust or something, unless of course GMMG is letting you use their name, which i highly doubt. ill vote for GMMG and for the person who said its ridiculously priced, most SS systems are, except the loudmouth (which is 3 inch piping and a resonator). the borla, corsa, b+b are all the same price or there abouts. also do a search, but if i were you id pick what i liked from HEARING them not what all of us opiniated people say.

I'll put in my $.02. I'm running a 4 inch Mufflex with a Flowmaster muffler and no matter where I go, I always have people asking me what kind of exhaust I'm running. No pretty exhaust tips, just an LT1 deep rumble, my cam loud and clear, and a WOT scream that wakes up the dead

Its Ok, I work in Fraud for a living. As long as I'm 1) Not selling it under GMMG's name ( Im not selling at at all) 2) claiming to to be a true GMMG ( and its not) 3) attempting to market and identical product to a third party / stores ( nope, built one just for me) its OK. It is a GMMG style, meaning similar to but not exact, and since there is no profit, sale or patent infringement as the design is not the same there are no grounds for procecution. If I were selling it and using GMMG's name as a selling point or advertising it using GMMG as an example of what it is then they might have an issue, but Im not doing either of these. Even if I was, it only takes a 30% design change to avoid a patent infringement...but no fear anyways, Im not selling it, advertising it for sale or climing it to be a true GMMG..just something similar. But thanks anyway

i was just saying that cuz when you made the million posts on LS1.com there was talk of fabricating and selling your style exhaust to board members, and there would have been a problem with that. still, why call it a GMMG style exhaust and not custom chambered exhaust? still seems kinda iffy in my opinion to refer to it that way.

WHOA!...Im not even a member of LS1.com (I dont think)....and your right, there would be a problem with that if it were being sold to board members. I can asure you that Ive never even posted at ls1.com for any reason let alone to sell my exhaust...which took me three days to do so trust me, if anyone else wants one they can make it their damned self..LOL...too much frustration was involved to do it on mass. Anyways, you have me confused with someone else...either that or someone posted under the same name...or used a link to the only post I made here and started discussing it on LS1.com...too strange.

I only say GMMG style so people know what I mean, many mufflers are considered chambered or are confused as such. Saying its similar to GMMG narrows the field.

Allan.

Hey thats ok, no problem ....I get confused too like when I tried to start my car with my house Key this morning and wonderd why it was being such a pain in the ***...then I discovered the joy of interior lighting and got the right key.

I can see how you got confused though, he did pretty much what I did only he followed the GMMG design exactly. I didnt because I was doing it all myself and since I was welding for the first time ever I didnt what to add any unnecessary difficulties so I changed the muffler arrangement etc...its close but I actulay preffer my set up. I have pics and sound files on this forum someplace.
