Question Fan Switch Question?

I finished the fan switch mod on this page:http://ls1info.com/article.php?sid=222
The problem is that after I get out of my car the fans still run. I know that the radiator is still hot and it will run untill it cools. But I still have my stock battery and it sucks. My question is how do i hook it up to an accesory power and still get the fan to turn on? Has anyone esle had this problem or did i do it wrong?

I have a 98 with the original battery.
I did the same mod (used a non-adjustable switch though).
Mine runs for a very short time after shutdown.
No problems with the battery.
This is an awesome mod, very little wiring, no wiring into the cabin at all, and you don't have to remember to turn it on/off.
I highly recommend the mod. If you have trouble with it and your battery, then you apparently are ready for a new battery with or without the mod.
I have heard of several folks with the switch forgetting to turn it off and killing the battery. I have heard of no one with the automatic switch killing the battery even though it does run for a moment after shutdown.
Good luck
Dave

Btw: This mod is the perfect compliment to the free thermostat mod. I have both mods and my car runs 175* no matter what the driving conditions.
auto fan mod
free stat mod

The fan mod i did from ls1info.com was to take pin 42 to ground.
If you have the switch on it will leave the fan for a long time.
I have left it on before but never so long it killed the battery.
You will get good at turning it off.. kinda like a check list,
dont use it unless you need it.. key off, parkingbreak, fan switch,
lock doors..
