Re: Fast LSX Intake Manifold
Sorry to bring up this thread again....it just had some interesting points. Some are saying w/ a mild cam that the 90/90 set up would be alright and they wouldn't lose power. Is that true?
Or would the 78/78 set up make more power, w/ less chance of losing power,
with the mild cam, i.e. ls1 hot cam?
Thanks...

Re: Fast LSX Intake Manifold
That is what I was kinda of thinking. If I was going to spend out the cash, why not go ahead and get the 90mm.
But I do NOT want to sacrifice any low end b/c of it.
The car is tuned by CAM for the LS1 hot cam and all the other mods I have. So the 90/90 wouldn't require tuning?
It's about $20 extra for the 90 tb over the 78 tb. It just doesn't make sense any other way.
Has anyone else ever did the 90/90 combo w/ a mild cam and bolts ons, and lost power????

Re: Fast LSX Intake Manifold
here is some interesting reading on different intake options.
i realize it's kind of an ad for TPIS..but the info is interesting.
but on your mid cam...the $1200 you would spend on the FAST 90/90 would yield you about 5hp more in peak power than a decent ls6 intake. the power in the low end would be similar.
$300 for an LS6 intake and a 15hp gain....or...
$1200 for the FAST and 20hp....
i guess it's your call

Re: Fast LSX Intake Manifold
a test a few years ago between different intakes, on a 420hp crate LS1...
the FAST beat the LS6 intake by 1hp and only at the upper rpm range (only spun to 6400). while the BBK and weiand intakes both came out below the LS6. although something about the dyno graph indicated that the BBK and weiand would probably yield good gains if spun higher.
so again, the LS6 is your best bet
