Talking First time track results

I have never taken my 2000 Z28 to the track before, so I had no idea what this particular car can do. I enter the Autometer Bracket at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL. I was averaging 13.7 at 101 mph all day. It was 93 degrees with near 90%humidity. After the first run, I had to wear a helmet to be legal at the track. Best pass was 13.669 and I was off the gas. I picked up so much seed since the last run that I had to get off the gas so I don't got fast the my 13.66 dial. This car is bone stock (aside for a K&N filter) with 38,000 miles on it. It's an everyday driver with a/c and avg 20 mpg. I was suprised, and so was everyone else I was with. I really have a new found appreciation for the LS1. (By the way, I red light in the 3rd round with 2 rounds to go.)

Dude I live in chicagoland too if you want a good track go to byron dragway (www.byrondragway.com. My first pass was a 13.5 almost bone stock and it was about 90 degrees out at 11 am.

No lid? Trap speed is low and your time is slow for a stock LS1, regardless of the weather.

As the air got better, the car picked up some speed. My best pass was made when I wasn't on the gass. I had to SLOW the car down so I wouldn't get disqualified. It was a bracket race, so I I had to stay slower than my 13.66 dial time. I barely made it. I have no idea what that car would have run if I stayed on it, but I still got the win.
