Fuel Cell

If I was to make a custom aluminum fuel cell to fit 98-02 Camaro/Firebird's would anyone here be interested in one. It would be made out of .080 aircraft grade aluminum. It would probably hold 11-13 gallons, somewhere in that region. I would also weld in baffles to stop fuel slosh and a sump. There would be no foam, due to it pluging everything up. I would also make it so you could fill the cell from your normal gas cap and not through the trunk. I have made cells for many other types of car's and was thinking about doing one for our F-Body's. The price tag would be somewhere in the $350-$400 range. Let me know if anyone would be interested!

I would be but don't need that much fuel and don't want to spend $300...and don't see where you can make it for less than that

I could make them smaller too! I just figured people that used them at the track would wanna drive the car on the road also and give them the availability to put more fuel in if they would like.

When I have done this in the past, I put a piece of tube at the top of the tank on the side and connect the hose off of that to the nozzle. The only hole in the top of the cell is plugged by the sending unit. I do have pictures of work I have done in the past, PM me with your E mail addy. I will send you pics of the one I did for a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4.
