Futral?????

I just got this e-mail from Futral, what do you all think? anyone know how to do this? I need this camm as SOON as possible, so if it is just switching wires I will do it. Please respond if you have any good input. thanks
We have had an issue with the cams recently, the reluctor wheel on the backside of the cam was cut 180 degrees backwards. Your cam was unfortunatly one of them. The problem with this cam is if you try to start the car it wont because the cam sensor is reading it 180 backwards. They are in the process of cutting new cams as we speak. I have your lifters sitting in front of me. As far as the cam goes, I can ship the first cam which is 180 out. The problem can be solved by switching two wires on the cam position sensor which is behind the intake manifold on the LS1. It is simple to do and it will fix the 180 out problem.

Re: Futral?????

its easy, you're just swapping 2 wires around, but personally i'd rather wait for a proper cam unless you've already got the car torn apart.

Re: Futral?????

no kidding...wait for the properly machined part.

i would also work the "what can you do on the price" angle

Re: Futral?????

what would it hurt to have this cam? forgive my ignorance, I just dont know exactly what this means as far as the cam being "right" or "working right"
by the way, the car is torn apart and I am on a very tight timeline. the car has to be finished in less than a week. thanks guys

Re: Futral?????

if it has to be done you've got no choice, but I would definately try to work on price. You have to drive a real hard bargain on the phone too, dont take no for an answer. "I NEED this car done in a week, and I REALLY dont want to put an improperly machined part in my engine!" "If you can't move on the price maybe I'll just have to have my money back and you keep the problem"

Re: Futral?????

What if you swap to another cam down the line, then you'll have to swap those wires back. I'd just wait for the proper piece. This is one of those case whereI wouldn't rush it.

Re: Futral?????

Man, it seems like Futral MotorSports is plauged with cam-related problems. They had a batch of bad cores, and now apparently Cam Motion has cut a batch of cams incorrectly for them.
