headers

I have a 2002 SS M6. I am looking at the pacesetter headers and y-pipe. My question is do I get it with or without EGR hookups??

I don't know about mass specifically but I have lived in two states that had emission testing. Here are all the ways I know of that people like me have gotten away with LT and ORY.

1). The Obvious. Live in a place with no inspection or emission test.

2). Live in a place where only OBDII hookup is done. If there is no sniffer or visual then o2 simms will fool the LS1's computer into thinking the emission equipment is still there and functioning. This in turn will fool the testers computer into passing you.

3). If you have to pass a sniffer but not a visual then get HF cats instead of ORY and you should be GTG.

4). If you have to pass the unthinkable (visual) then you only have two choices. One is bribe the tester. This can be risky but others have done it and been successful. The other is know your going to a muscle car friendly place. How do you find such a place? Usually other local F-body enthusiasts and or f-body speed shops can guide you in the right direction.

And if all else fails (you live in California Buhahahahaha) you have to bite the bullet, stick with shorty headers and never get bigger then a TR224 cam.

I get nightmares just thinking about that

Re: headers

or swap back to your stock manifolds for a week every few years to get the test done.

lotta work, but you'd probably get pretty good at it

I get tested every year. I think after three years I'd be ready to open my own exhaust shop
