Post Headers from an 84?

My friend has an 84 Camaro and is getting new headers. He's giving me his older ones if I want them. He said they're shorty headers or something. He said they'd fit on mine. Would I gain anything frmo that? WOuld they fit? Worth my time to install em? I want long tube headers but don't have the cash so this will do for now if they're worth it. They're in great condition by the way.

they wont even come close to fitting an ls1. the small block chevy has the 1-2-1 exhaust port layout where the gen III smallblock has the ford style layout, (evenly layed out exhaust ports).

I'd like to think of it as "being similar to the Big Block port layout" and not related to F**d.
