Help, help!! Pacesetter passenger side instal, (PICS)

Well I got the header on after using a cord to hold it up, etc... It's just such a PITA to do by yourself. I don't know if the last bolt has sealed properly and even if not I can't crank it anymore with a small ratchet, big one won't really fit either, top or bottom.

Here are some pics.

I'm asking if that bolt needs to be tighter than it is? I've been working on the car for several hours straight so I just can't see things the same anymore.

The torque on those is only 12-14 ftlbs. And that ain't much. If you get it as tight as you can with the short ratchet after all the other bolts are torqued then it'll be fine.

And please resize your pics.

Understood but that pic really shows that the bolt is faar out... I'm gonna pull all the bolts out and have someone hold the header while I retighten.

You can't get any damns tools in there, argh! Sorry about the pic size.

I just did headers on Thanksgiving day and I had no problem getting the bolts in all the way. You should probably remove that bolt and clean the threads and spray some PB Blaster or oil on the threads to ease installation. I left the plug wire off the coil and was able to reach the bolt from the top to tighten it down enough. With my XS Stainless headers, the bolt closest to the front of the car was the most out of alignment so I left it out and snugged down all the others before putting that one in. You'll lose the header gasket if they aren't all decently tight. Then you want to run through a couple of heat cycle and retighten the bolts.

That's why you invest in some locking header bolts! Cant beat em'! Once their on, their on, never need to be retightened!

Ditto to what Al said. You don't need to tighten them over 15 lbs-ft with aluminum heads.

Try a swivel/u-joint socket and an extention to reach it.

I use these for header bolts on f-bodies http://www.gearwrench.com/catalog/xl...m/gearratchet/

Great tool investment for 50 bux or so from sears. I find myself turning to those more often than my regular stuff.

That bolt looks like it's pretty much tightened. I'd torque it to spec and call it day. If it gives you any indication it's malfunctioning, revisit it then.
