Hooker Header Problems?

I am going to be puchasing headers very shortly, (just got the funds for christmas), before I do purchase them, did anyone have any problems with the non-coated headers and y pipe from Hooker? I am probably just going to let meineke take care of the install instead of another headache. Anyone have any input? Thanks in Advance.

they will heat up your engine bay quite a bit and they do look ugly. mind you most coatings will discolor anyways.

Do I really need it to be coated? I am not going to have this car forever and if it is not going to cause problems I am fine with it. I was talking about the install and if they fit fine/ran good after.

I installed Hookers on my hawk with a couple of buddies over a weekend. I went with the uncoated ones and they haven't rusted or anything yet. I've had them on for about 5 months now. Pretty easy to install, most difficult part is getting the old exhaust off and disconecting the steering linkage (which sounds a lot worse than it actually is). Just pick up a set of header gaskets from your local GM dealership. I suggest re-using your stock header bolts and staying away from the bolts and gaskets that come with the headers. Also, don't forget some high temp loctite for the bolts so they won't loosen over time.
