Post How dumb would this look?

I have a Z28 but I love the SS hood would it be just stupid if I put the SS hood on my Z28? Wolud it make it any better if I made it functional or would people still just point and say look at that idiot in the Z that wants to be an SS?

Hey look at this idiot with a Z and wishes it was an SS!

Just kidding man If you like the SS hood, get it. I wouldn't think you were a poser or anything...as long as no "SS" stickers ended up on the car.

Its your car, who gives a crap what others think.

If I ever get to the point of stopping spending money on gong faster and spend some on the body I might get the SS hood & spoiler. I plan on putting SS badges on it too. I thought about putting the badges on without the hood and spoiler

Yep, it's your car. Go for it. I want the SCC Z style hood and the SS spoiler. I wont rebadge it though. I like having a z28.

If you like the hood, put it on!

Although I personally wouldn't badge it to look like an SS, you can do whatever you want ... it's your car.

It's like people putting the Raptor hood on their T/A ... it makes it look like a Firehawk. That's cool by me and I love the way it looks. But, the first time someone sticks a Raptor hood on their car and then puts the Firehawk decals on there, I'm gonna walk up and slap them. But, that's just me.

Go for it, if I had a chance, I would put an SS hood on my Z28 any day. I might buy an aftermarket hood someday and put it on anyway. Makes the Z look alot meaner IMHO.

I've seen it. It looks cool. Buy the kit to make it functional. I thought about doing it, too. The SS is not available in marooon. (see sig) I thought it would look sweet. If anyone says anything, just waste them and see what they say next.

The GM hood and at least some of the aftermarket ones dont need anything else to make them functional. they will route the air to th slit in the airbox

Wink

I say get the SS hood. If you like it do it but if you put the SS badges then (in my opinion) it will look poser-ish. And if anyone says anything -- Smoke em

All the ones I've seen were aftermarket hoods that need a kit. Good to know. Thanks.

I didn't want the SS package, so I bought the GM hood and had the dealer install it. It doesn't have a 'ram air' effect, but it sure looks good.

Go for it. I agree with the SS = poser comments, so I'm happy leaving the Z28 badges in place.

I am having a American Autosports SS hood put on now because my original hood was damaged when I bought the car and the dealer was going to pay to have it fixed, so I just had the money put to help paying for an aftermarket hood.

Hope it looks good.

Thumbs up

I got a buddy who is the VP of the NorCal club and he has a 99 Z with a SS hood on it and he gets nothing but compliments. But I agree that if you put the badges on then your getting into poser teritory.
