No, if you put SS badges on a non SS car then you just built a damn house in poser territory

so does that mean any car that was badged as an SS after it left the factory is a poser? what about a cloned Z28?

There sure are a lot of posers at the car shows I go to.

I think it's funny that you guys who say putting SS badges on is poser when half of you have corvette rims and fuel rail covers on your camaros. what's up with that? I would leave the z-28 badges on because they just look better.

It's a little different when you are changing the car by putting parts from another on, than pretending you bought an SS when you really didn't. By putting corvette rims or FRC's doesn't mean people are saying they have a 'vette! I've known people with V6's that put Z28 badges on cause they don't want to be thought of as haveing a v6. They want people to think better of them. And people do the same with putting SS badging on.

Putting SS badges doenst mean they are saying they have an SS. Its a Z28 with SS badges. no biggie. personaly I think the SS badges are a heluva lot better looking.

Again I wanna know if any non SS or Z28 that is rebadged as one is a poser..

I put the SS hood on my Z. It looks good and its functional. Just as long as you dont put the badging on. The hood is an excellent way of improving the look of your car. This way it can no longer be mistaken for a V6.

Do it, I'm thinking of buying a new hood for my Z28 and it may possibly be the SS hood. I love the looks of the SS hood and who gives a damn.

Thumbs up

I did it to my z28...no one ever said anything negative about it. a lot of my friends wanted me to put ss badges on it but i wouldnt do it. i was proud to have a z...it was a lot meaner and nastier looking than my SS IMO, and a lot of people expect less from a Z so it hurts that much more when you smoke em.

I'd seriously consider the Ultra Z hood if I owned a Z28. Much more functional than any other hood and it's more unique.

Man get the hood, but don't play yourself fronting with the badges. I want to get a ss hood. Do they all come unpainted? What is the best price you seen them new for? Give me the links peeps.

It still wouldn't be a real SS.... If you want the car to look like an SS, that is perfectly fine. Just don't badge it as one. Anyways, if it's different badges you want, why not add some first or second gen Z/28 badges for a custom look? A Z/28 is nothing to sneeze at. Respect your car for what it is.

Look into the Ultra Z Hood, those thinks are freakin' sweet... I almost got one back when I had my Z. I don't see a problem with gettin' an SS hood either, I just thing the Ultra Z would look a lot better. I hate it when people throw on a SS hood, spoiler and badges and go around calling in an SS.... That crap pisses me off, and yes, it has happened. Keep us posted as to what you decide to do

Somehow I skipped over this post, but felt I should respond. The first or second gen Z/28 badges are an awesome idea. I've seen it done before and it looks great. Go search for some pics... Amen, a Z is nothing to sneeze at, so don't try to hide what it is. Be proud brotha!!
