How loud is a Loudmouth...

Hey. I have never really heard a loudmouth in person or sat behind the wheel of a car that had it. I just have heard them on soundclips online. I heard one guy was saying that he could not talk on his cellphone while driving...is this true with just a loudmouth exhaust? Also from cruising speeds what does it sound like inside...would you say it was double as loud as stock?

Thx alot

Thing is I have a small buget being that I am only 16 yrs old, and I want it to be a head turner. Loudmouth is not to expensive and will defiently turns a few heads.

Do you have pictures of your dual tips? I was also trying to decide which I should get between the dual/dual or the dual.

Well im gonna tell ya right now do not get the dual/dual tips. The Dual tips look awesome and i have had nothing but compliments from them. The loudmouth is pretty damn loud and it gets really loud when you get the RPM's way up there. I reccommend getting the Y-pipe to go with it though because after i installed mine it made the car sound completely different. Much deeper more aggressive sound and it made it even louder than before. I totally love my setup and it definatley turns heads

Damn, 16 with an LS1. When I was 16 I drove a rusted POS '88 Jeep Cherokee.

I like my loudmouth. Sounds great and it's also one of the best flowing exhausts out there.

Yup...a 16 year old with a LS1. The insurance isn't to good (haha), but luckily my dad is an insurance agent and gave me a little discount...

Anyways, thanks alot everyone for replying quickly. I am pretty certain now that I will be getting a Slp Loudmouth with Dual 3.5" tips.

you can talk on the cell phone easy, just shift to a higher gear, and out of the about 2000 rpm resonance zone.

Its loud.. your neighbors will hear you easily in their house.. my gf said she can hear my car while she's in the shower... My two cats can tell when I'm approaching the neighborhood.. My gf can hear me when I'm blocks away about to enter the neighborhood.

People will think your racing around when your not... I laredy got threatened to have the cops called on me for going fast in the neighborhood.. going 25 mph in first gear with this exhaust and car does that..

But it sounds great, a below 2000 rpm when it rumbles, and above 3000 rpms when it rips. In cities, the exhaust rumbles and resonates off the buildings.. Not quite the same sound as other small blocks, but I've gotten a lot of compliments..

When I got it 3 years ago, and was in the loud phase, I loved it.. Now, I like it, but if someone offered to trade for, say maybe a muffled SLP exhaust, I'd take it.. Guess I'm getting old... but it still sounds sweet when I open it up..

BTW, I also replaced the resonator with a "bullet" muffler

Oh I got the 3.5 tips.. I didn't like the dual dual.. but I have to admit,t he 3.5 tips do look a bit large.. if I ever find some good inexpensive 3" or even 2.5" tips, I'd go for that too...

Personally, for sound I would reccommend a flowmaster. I tried a dynomouth setup, almost same thing as the loudmouth... it only cost me about 105 bucks for the bullet muffler and install, but it's loud as hell. I drove it about a week and got pulled over 3 times. That's right, pulled over 3 times within a week. No tickets because I served in the Marine Corps (OORAH!), and most of the cops around here are Jarheads also... to remedy the situation I stopped at the local meineke, they reccommended a Flowmaster. It sounds great, not nearly as loud as the Dynomouth, and so far, nobody's pulled me over! Of course, I live in a smaller town where cops have nothing better to do than pull over people for mufflers, a big town or city might not be a problem.

And about the people being able to hear it inside there house, I think that's funny considering I hate my neighbors. I was just thinking about how I would draw alot more attention to my car while I'm speeding, that may result in tickets. Hopefully I won't have any problems.

took the words out of my mouth. Cut out.
1. Just as loud if not louder
2. You can always close and open it
3. ALot cheaper
4. If you plan on getting headers don't buy the loudmouth
