Post How much should I pay for a new '02 Z28?

I live in the Detroit metro area.

I am thinking of buying a new '02 with the following:

auto. w/3:23 axle
T-Tops
Leather
Chrome Wheels
Traction control
and other typical features

So, basically I want one fully loaded.

I figure I should be able to get this car at onvoice (or close to it) so how much with tax should I be looking at?

Better take advantage of that 0 percent interest for 5 yr financing.

After rebates my 02 Z28 came out right at 25K with everthing except traction control. If you go with the 0% financing, will the dealer haggle the price? It was my understanding that if you went with 0% the price was what was on the sticker. So do some math and see which is the better option. 0% or rebates/lower price along with a slightly higher interest rate.

I have seen Z that were well-optioned run as much as $28,000 around here.

Are you sure you have to have all the creature comforts? My Z stickered for about $24,000 with TTops as the only real option. I paid $18,000 after some haggling. I would have preferred a hard-top.

Anyway, one good thing about the no-power options is that the car is lighter.

Well I my car stickered for about 28k it has all options except T tops or Convertible top. The chrome rims where a must but then they really dont matter because I wanna get some Z06 rims for it anyway. Unfortunately for them my credit was jacked up and they had me sign the contract before they found out. So after they found out (a week later) they tried to raise the price on me, I said "no way I signed for this amount and Im payin it, if you make the price go up, here are the keys and the car is outside..." obviously they dont want the car back because it isnt worth much after it leaves the lot, so in the end they had to knock 8k off the price on top of the discount they gave me to begin with, and I got the warranty free Oh, and the guy who had me sign the first time got fired

Cool

Get all of the options off of the window sticker, and price the car out at Kelly Blue Book. You will get sticker and invoice price. No matter if you finance at 0% or if you take the $3,000 cash back, you STILL should not pay over $500 over invoice. If there is a $3,000 rebate, you simply deduct it off of the invoice price, then add $500 for the max price to pay. If you don't get the rebate and take the financing, then you just add $500 to the invoice price, and that's the max you should pay. FWIW, I did NOT special-order my SS, and I paid $200 UNDER invoice for it. I worked with the dealership through GM BuyPower and agreed upon the price before I ever saw the car. I drove down, worked out the trade-in price, and drove the car home. FYI, the $3,000 rebate is paid to the dealership from GM, so it's not a rebate being offered by the dealership. Some will use that rebate as an excuse to not come off of the sticker, but that's wrong.

The saleswoman today told me she would give me the car at invoice price with the 0% financing. NOw I just have to sell my 99 Trans Am that has 70,000 miles. The lease is up in March on it and I am 4000 miles over! To get out of my lease, I would have to pay 2000k....so I may just have to sell the car outright.

4000 dollars worth of miles I would have to pay so there is no way I can turn the car back into them. I can buy it for 17,000.
