Post i love this car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have been driving my camaro for about two months now and i can't beleve how much i enjoy it
a little history i traded in my dream car(87 corvette)for it july 1st to get something with a back seat(for the kid).
i never figured i would like this car as much as my vette but i was wrong i don't even think about the vette much anymore all i can think about is the camaro.
it is alot faster and much more fun to drive.they always say once you get vette fever you are hooked for life, but i am not so sure about that.i love the camaro and will keep it around for a very very long time.
ok i am done, thanx for listening

Tim

Welcome to the family . Glad you like your F-body! I noticed its a '99 with only 30K miles...that's pretty damn good. Excellent trade

I can totally relate! After I sold my '81 Z28 a couple years ago, I hadn't driven a fast car for a long time. Then last summer I was able to drive a friend's '91 Vette, and I thought it was pretty cool --- I mean, it was fast, and it's handling was tight and crisp --- then this year rolled around and I got into my new car ('02 Z28). It's truly the nicest car I've ever driven! The handling feels very good (especially for narrower tires than the Vette had), and the power is awesome (and smooth!). Yes, I love my car!!! (glad you love yours too! )

I love my car too but my boyfriend just bought a 2002 z06. I have all new respect for the vette family. I have never been into vettes until I drove this one. It is f@$#&ing amazing! As per a camaro for a family car, you are my type of family. Yeah! Screw the volvo familys

Okay! Now we're comparing apples and watermelons!! Obviously the Z06 is in a class of its own (but the new F-bodies are still "f@$#&ing amazing" in their own way! ).

BTW: that's the kind of family I'd like to have - "His" & "Hers" Vette/Camaro?! Wow!

Now considering the speedsters that we are and if our future children get that gene , we will probably have to buy them slow "ponies" to keep them from getting speeding tickets, since by then the RUSTANG will have like a 1 liter hamster engine or something.

My daughters are gonna get Miatas when they start driving. No back seat! Reliable. Cheap. Good on gas... And yeah, we're one of those NASCAR watching, drag racing, local circle track visiting, autocrossing, Camaro/Vette owning families. We just don't have the Vette yet. My oldest daughter (9) has a gokart and is somewhat interested in cars. When she was 3 we visited DaytonaUSA and there was a superbike on display. She said, "When I get big I want a motorcycle like that one. But I want a blue one." That one was green. I asked her how old she was gonna be when she got it. She said,"When I'm 5." She kept reminding us until she was 5. Then I guess she decided she still wasn't old enough.
My youngest daughter (5) loves speed. She's been riding roller coasters since she was 2. Every time she gets tall enough for another one she's there and loving it. She already says that she wants a convertible Camaro when she gets old enough. No way in he!! she's gonna have a Z28 while she's under my roof. Too wild. I'll be getting her a 4 banger for sure.

Okay. Ramble mode - Off.

Do you mean hp-wise or mystique-wise. my friends WS6 dyno'd @350 rwhp, the Zo6 there @355 rwph. The Ws6 has a thundercam waiting to go in= 390rwhp. A $40-$50K+ zo6 = ?? lots of $ for souped up ls1.

no flame on z06'ers, just a shining compliment to the best budget street rod thats come out in my day!

Question

A Z06 only dyno'd 355rwhp next to a WS6 that dyno'd 350rwhp?? I almost find that hard to believe (no flame, it just seems odd). I thought that Z06's were supposed to be rated a 405HP (fine if that's flywheel HP, but you'd think it would dyno much higher than a car with the same motor as a 350HP C5 'Vette??)

What year was the Z06? Were the earlier ones not rated at 405HP?? And what about the WS6? How many mods did it have when it was on the dyno?? That just doesn't seem right - think about it - a stock C5 would then be just as powerful as the Z06, so what would be the advantage of the Z06??

Welcome to the F-body Family. We are few but proud!!! I just bought my second Camaro myself (2000 V6, that'll be outta there very soon-LS1 comin!!). I used to think my 86 was the s#$t in handling and the 2000 would not handle as good. NOT TRUE!! Even with the 3800 it's still a fun car to drive PERIOD!!!I'm a Camaro fan for life and plan to collect one more before I stop (67-69 SS or Z-28 w/ hideaways, my dream car.

The new zo6 has 405 hp now. Before they had 355. Just for a fun fact. While we were at the dealer I had to ask everything about vettes. All I know are camaros.
As per 2002Z28SSConv Good luck! Too Bad no one ever warned my own father.
