Post I need to trade......

Anyone here interested in trading me their stock unported LS1 MAF for my ported one?? I am getting my car tuned this next week at Speed Demon and the tuner says he can't work with a ported MAF, so I need a stock one. Please email me if interested. Thanks!

Milo, if you are interested in the trade laet me know and I will ship it out to you on Friday. Thanks,
Rick
ps. It has to be a stock MAF by the way out of a 98 LS1. I also took out based on the pictures and my friend's opinion(the one who removed the AC components) we sent out the drier, hoses, few bolts and brackets, and the condensor to you. AGAin, if I didnt see everything in the pic for some weird reason let me know and I can 2-day it to you.

I have a '98 Z, so it could work. I just need to check to see if its stock. I'll give you a call when I get home. I'll take some pics of it, and you can see if you want it.

This is yet another reason that I bought an OEM set of MAF Ends before doing the port/polish.

Now I've got a stock set and a ported/polished set.

Rick - or anyone:

What are the pros and cons of having your MAF ported? If I swap Rick, what should I expect?

Thank you.

Same here, I have the stock ends and a second ported set. From the calculations the ported maf ends have 43% more air flow as compared to stock, they work nice with no SES codes, for me anyway. I have to beleive they are good for at least 5 rwhp.

Well for some people like me the ported MAFon a bolt on setup will give them a nice increase in hp but for some it does cause problems. It usually leans out the car a bit. The reason i believe it worked on mine so well was that 98's have the bigger injectors and can compensate for the lean condition. Most 98's run a tad rich from the factory anyhow. Back when I was almost stock( Nittos, whisper lid, free ram air mod, and a PORTED MAF) I ran a 12.8 at TAD. So obviously it does help some like it did me. I think you should be ok Milo since yours is a 98, but there is always a chance that you could have a lean condition arise that may cause problems, so I'll leave it up to you. Just letting you know all possibilities here. let me know!

I ported mine a few days ago and don't like it. So I'm also on the market for some unported MAF ends. But Phat TA called dibs first so give em to him but if anyone else wants to trade or sell there stock ones I"m on look out to get one.
