Yes I know they aren't front wheel drive.
That is not unreasonable, but a 03 ~ 04 Cobra doesn't need that much $$$ to make a ton of power.

 

Once again i'm in Cali so NO headers... My budget is about, at the most 1500... Whats the best thing to do? Heads or cam? And how much do GOOD mechs. do cam installs for?

 

The inability to get LT headers is really gonna hurt your cause unfortunately. You don't have enough of a budget to upgrade your heads. A cam + install + tune will eat up your 1500 and still won't be at max potential on the stock manifold, Y-pipe and cats. Personally, I think your looking too far ahead of your car mod wise. If I were you I would spend that $1500 on the following:

Lid, 3500 stall torque converter, shift kit, tranny cooler, drag radials

TCI SSF3500...........$500
TransGo shift kit......$110
B&M shift kit........... $50
Installation.............$350
pair of Nitto 555R DR $300
Airbox lid.................$100

Total.....................$1410

That right there will not gain you any RWHP but you will be at least a half second faster in the 1/4 mile (maybe a little more) which should allow you to beat a "stock" Cobra with an average driver in a standard 1/4 mile drag race. Plus you'll lose the dead spots and have a lot more fun driving the A4.

Then when more $$$ comes available you can get a catback or cutout, suspension upgrades, cam, heads and even N20 to top you off

But seriously I would start with a lid, converter and tires. Then work on exhaust (as much as cali will allow), suspension and finally the big power adders if you feel the need.

around how much would you be putting to the wheels with this? Im looking to do some head/cam work on an LS1 and that seems like a pretty good package.

 

This looks like a great deal, what do the heads flow around, also what is the advantage of going with the LS6 heads.

 

the heads flow in the 300-305 range at .600 with a small 225cc intake port(5.3L heads) and the midlift numbers are very good. the advantage to the LS6 style heads depends on you and your plans for the car, there may be no advantage there may be a lot.
