ignition relay question

im pretty sure its called the ignition relay, but anyway.... 1000 miles ago or less, i had the relay changed because the car died out of nowhere and it would crank, give a signal on the crank sensor, 55 psi on fuel, no spark on any coil. well, the car again earler today and after a little while (when the tow truck got there of course) it fired right back up. what would cause the power source for the coils (first off, what is it? distributor/module?) to act this way randomly? its possibly the replace was a defect, but not likely since i hadnt had an issue since the summer. i realize im probably being a little vague here, so fire your comments or questions away please

It's the ignition relay...located under the hood on the driver's side with the rest of the relays and fuses, etc...it has a diagram that tells you where it is...

Replace the $9.99 suck and it will go away...worked for me
