my daily driver is the 4.8 in a reg cab short bed auto LT's, duals, cam and springs with tunning stock vertor unlocked

Anyone who ports heads for free, I wouldn't use. I've talked to some of those guys and they really don't understand the finer points of head porting. Stick with the big names in LS1 head porting if you just have to have ported heads. Otherwise, don't touch them - they flow pretty good stock.
If you had $4000+ to work with, I'd put in a 5.7 or 6.0 with a Thunder Racing dyno-proven cam. It'll make ~400 rwhp from a simple combination.

yea thanks a lot, the only reason I wanted the LS1 parts to bolt up was the lsx manifold and reusing some parts of my dad's old engine, he totally rebuilt it and left a lot of parts for nothing, so I wanted to at least be able to bolt them up to it

500 rwhp is not possible with a 5.3/Powerdyne.

if its got an alum block then its more then likely a 5.7 block as all the 4.8,5.3,6.0 are an iron block...the 4.8,5.3 heads are the same
as far as intake the truck intake is really close to being as good as the LS6 intake.. many test have been done do a search on ls1tech.com you will find some good info on it
all the GEN III motors will swap around parts 4.8,5.3,5.7,6.0 but the 8.1 wont swap out

Man, that's alot of conversation for one easy question. Yes, the parts are interchangable and yes, the 5.3 in most cases is aluminum which isn't the best for a blower.
If you can get a 5.3 cheap, great. It's a damn good motor. If you have the cash, get the 6.0 iron block, dump a N20 kit and/or cam on it and do your suspension.
The only problem I see with your 5.3 idea is why not do the 6.0 or even a 5.7 and get more for your effort. The 5.7 will kick-*** with a good cam. Remember there is plenty you can do to these motors to get a ton of power that doesn't include a procharger. My bud just picked a forged LS1 - 427 for 7g's with computer. The car it came out of was laying down 485 at the wheels all motor.

Re: IMPORTANT: 5.3l LS1?
here is what I say about the 5.3, one it saves me money(im only 16 ya know) two, it can be bored out to a 5.7 or even a 6.0 and stroked for much cheaper, and three I could build it with hte money I save from buying it as opposed to a 5.7 block or a 6.0 block, so that just works out for me a lot better, and I do believe I may sell the 4.3l with the supercharger as a set with the jet coated headers on it, and prolly have around $4500 to spend on cam heads and whatever else I want, prolly gunna do a cam with lsx manifold and some other parts, like bigger injecters and 90mm throttle body, and some show parts

Look. . . you decided before even posting this that you're getting the 5.3, so no matter what anyone says, you're going to get it whether it makes sense or not.

I'm not sure what you're paying for the 5.3? But I see 5.7's being sold all day long for $2500 with tranny and computer. By the time you add the cost of the 5.3 and what you have to do to get the power you want...just doesn't make much sense. Plus the effort to copnvert the s-10???? I think you would be much happier with the 5.7. Oh and by the way, you can't bore anything off the LS1's with out some serious machine work..look at the sleeves, what you have is what you have. Good luck though
