THanks for all the replies. The reason I am wondering what the best options would be is because something is wrong somewhere. I have only had the car for two weeks or so and the second day I had I had my buddy run it while I ran my 86 grand national. Now I wasn't expecting the camaro to beat my GN as I am running low 11's in the grand national. But the camaro kept up until I hit full boost in the GN, it was very impressive. We then changed drivers and it performed equally as well the second run. Then we decided to run again this past week and the Camaro got blown away, the GN ran the same according to my laptop but the camaro couldn't keep up at all, even off the line! There is no miss and no error codes but the car has lost alot of power. THe screen in the MAS seems clean and the filter seems ok but somethings not right here. I used to be able to be going 30mph, lay floor and break the tires loose, not it kicks down and accelerates but not as visious as before. Any help would be appreciated. The car is a 1999 z28 silver black two tone with the f1 body package, it has 40000 on it. any ideas?

NO, I didn't do anyhting different, the only difference I know of is that the air temp outside was about 20 degrees colder the second (slower) run. Would taking the filter out of the MAS make any potential problems on these cars? If so I think I'd rather buy an aftermarket without a screen so I can always throw the stocker back in if problems arrise.

Your kidding right. You can gain anywhere from 20-25 rwhp from an FIPK. A lid/filter combo nets you 10-15. Thats about an average of 10 rwhp extra your talking about for the FIPK. Generally speaking 10 rwhp is very good for the additional $150. A cam gets you 25-30 hp for about $450 plus install. The FIPK is a great mod for the money.

from what i understand, running your car in cooler weather means that there's more air getting into your car... cuz when the weather's cold, the air is packed closer together... thus meaning more (cooler) air is getting into your engine, creating more horse power... thats why cars run better on cooler days than on hotter, muggy days. down here in miami, i notice a big difference in my car when it's cooler out... it runs noticeably better. hell, i went to moroso one weekend when it was hotter than hell (high 80's), and the next weekend when i went, it was a lot colder(hmm, high 40's or low 50's i think) and i ran .5 seconds better than i did the week before. w/e, like i said, hope you figure out what's up w/ your car. peace!
