Lid/ idle problem

Last night I installed an SLP lid and a smooth bellows, I made sure everything was tight and leak free. When I started the car up it ran real rough and would not idle for about 5 minutes. After that it began to run better, today it seems to be idling and running just fine. Has anybody else experienced this?

did it trip any SES light?

could have just been a random misfire that was throwing things off. or the maf was not quite reading correctly.

if nothing was set on the computer, and it runs fine now i would just forget about it

No SES, hope it was just a fluke.

Did you plug the MAF back in?

Assuming you plugged the MAF back in. The computer may have been re-calibrating to the increase of air flow. I have heard that it will run rough. However, when I install my K&N FIPK the engine ran fine when I started it up. It should be fine if its running okay now. Let us know how it turns out?

Whenever you disconnect the battery for any length of time it resets the pcm. It then has to go through an idle re-learn procedure when you first start it up. It will sound like it's going to stall but don't give it any gas or it will take longer for it to re-learn . After 30 secs to a minute it should smooth out. It may also run a little rough at the next few stoplights/signs during the first ride but will eventually go away.

I learned about this when I first changed my lid. The same for my buddy. He changed the lid and I got the 911 phone call because he thought he broke his car.

we know about those. i put my EGR back on and the car wouldn't idle and then when you tapped the gas it went to 2500rpm and was smoking out the VC. i called all my buddies up and one was like "you have an intake leak, take it back off and put it how you had it". did that and now it runs great
