I found something better though for a conventional sbc, problem is they are about 5K and need special t&d rockers etc.

So I am wondering what to do, I am trying to get a plan together for the next 2-3 years....

You talking about those RFM heads you posted in the lounge with 400+cfm? Those are pretty impressive, the question you gotta ask yourself is: Do you want to spend $3000 for an extra 60cfm? If i had to choose between the two i would definitely go with those livernois heads after doing some research about the company of course.

Livernois is a good company. I've heard people with good results, but have never used them personally.

Those L92 heads are mean... 260cc rectangle-port intake runners and flow like 330 @ .600 from the factory for $390 a piece bare

We already talked about this Mikey

Sell it, pick up a junkyard LQ4 or LQ9 motor for $400, dump everything out of it bore it .030" and pick up a forged 4.00" stroke rotating assembly for $2900 from Eagle. Top the 408 off with those heads, the ported L92 carb intake for $350, an aggressive custom cam (similar to what you have now if you want to go that route ) from Futral Motorsports, and go do wheelies all day long

Pretty good numbers, I agree. Livernois is 5 minutes from my house and its a nice shop. I dislike Dan Millen as a person (he comes into the restaurant I work at and I've met him) and Livernois never stocked any parts I've needed and had been less than helpful in my experience, along with overpriced. I'm not a fan but the shop puts out decent product and some neat rides, but there's more bang for your buck to be found elsewhere thats for sure.

I've seen a set of their stage 2 243 heads on a local bench and they did very well. Great head for the money. Car made very good power too. Be careful with the L92 stuff. It seems getting them to make the power that the heads should be good for is an elusive art. Careful camshaft selection is needed, and the intake choices suck. Most seem to be on par with or just a step behind less aggressive cathedral port builds.

no there is some new stuff out I have seen but its not really on the market yet.

I plan to do a carburated build. My buddy just finished a L92 carb motor so they should be testing soon.....

if you do go that route mike, definately tell them you have rectangle port heads when you get your cam ground, otherwise you'll have issues with it being kind of a dog.
