Why not read all the heads/cam/build up posts in the first 3 or 4 pages of this forum, get some ideas then ask questions.

Just depends what you want man. A budget build with a Cam/243 Heads like i'm doing now can get you around 420-440rwhp.

Send those heads out to be ported by AI or get a set of aftermarket heads + a bigger cam and 460-480rwhp.

***** out 500rwhp can be hit with a perfect combo.

Just depends on what you want. I'd concentrate on Bolt-Ons/Clutch first though...450+rwhp is worth nothing if you toast your clutch or grenade your rear end the first time you hook!

Get the bolt ons first and then go to the H/C, b/c if you are stock right now, you are doing nothing but hurting the combo with stock parts.

Start out with headers and go from there. I will help ya any way I can and once we get ready for AI H/C we can do that too.

thunder racing 231/231 cam did 400 with stock ls1 heads and intake. go with that cam, fast 90/90 setup, and trickflow heads you will be around 460-70 hp. if you want 500 try the trex like i have in my racecar cam only car.

500 cam only? 241 or 243 heads?

BTW- you dont need TFS heads to make that 460+ power, some 243s worked right with a 230ish cam will do just fine.

How much do you want to spend? Then you can get some accurate suggestions. Are you going to have it installed and tuned or are you doing it yourself?
