Loudmouth Rasp on LS1 , but not on LT1 ?
Guys,
I have owned 3 other GM F-bods and on my LT1s , I had a cut-out and have had the loudmouth and it sounded mean as hell.
I just put a loudmouth on my LS1 and it sounds good under throttle , but when you rev it out of gear it is the nastiest sound Ive ever heard!
What difference between the two beasts would cause this?
Thanks
Mike

Its more than just the iron vs aluminum block. Take a 6.0L LQ9 block and put a Loudmouth on it, and it still wont sound like an LT1 with a Loudmouth. The firing order, bore and stroke, and other characteristics make a difference. An LS1 based motor will never sound like an LT1.
My buddy has a 95 Z with a Loudmouth and with no other modifications to his car, it sounds absolutely badass! I WISH my car sounded like his!

I agree, I've NEVER heard an LS1 that sounded like any LT1(just two totally different motors like someone else said).
The LT1 is always a little bassier/throatier sounding(and usually a little louder). Although I personally think the LM still sounds like crap on that motor as well as the LS1. Just has a pick-up truck straight-pipe sound to it.

The thing that causes the most sound difference is the firing order. The block has very little to do with the sound. If any of you have heard an original 69 camaro ZL1 all aluminum 427 it sounds bad *** just like a 454 iron block.
