Loudmouth too LOUD?
I've got a 6 under the hood right now and an slp loudmouth w. quad center outlet ready for install. My next mod is the ls1 swap. For the guys with the loudmouths, is it too loud on the 8 cylinder f'er? By too loud I mean setting off car alarms and scaring poodles naked.

I heard a Loudmouth for the first time at a car show last year, and (not to start a flame war with Loudmouth-fans out there), I didn't like it very much. Its just loud, and kind of obnoxious, IMO. If you want a nice sound, you are going to have to spend some more money, and get Borla, Corsa or the best, GMMG. Once you hear a car with GMMG exhaust, theres no comparison.

Waiting to be installed: Edelbrock subframe connectors, Edelbrock torque arm
Wish list: GMMG exhaust

Ok here's the deal. I was in situation a while back and was asking if it is too loud and blah blah. Well if you want my opinion it's not to loud. When you get on it, it is really nice and at idle a nice calm rumble. Here's the thing though...if you are gonna get headers in the future don't get the LM. I think I am selling mine soon because it wont sound good, and will be to loud with headers. If you aren't getting headers then they are perfect. Another thing that isn't too good about the LM is that it shakes stuff inside the car sometimes. This happens with some other kind of exhaust setup's but just remember that. I actually like the noise of the LM exhaust, and I am happy that I bought it. I didnt think that I was gonna get headers in the future, but w/e now I think I am.
For the price you have to pay for the LM, it is a very good deal. Some of these other exhausts might sound better to some people, but they are also double the price. That is just my .02 cents.

You are going to have to listen to one in person to be certain if you like it or not. I took a chance because I got a great deal on a used one (thanks again ROBVAS). I love mine. It does sorta drone at certain RPMS's though. With my 2:73's it drones kinda loud on the highway from about 66 -74 mph. It's not that bad. It gets a tad quieter as the car warms up. As far as setting off alarms, yes it can do that sometimes. I just set one off today driving by a co-workers car (hehe). You will probably like it though. It sounds great when you get up on it. I have some clips of my car racing (also posted in some other posts). If you want to hear mine.

Man how many times is this same exact thread going to come up?
As said a 1000 times before, find a clip on the net or a local F-Body owner who has one and see for yourself whether you like it or not. Everyone's opinion will differ on what is and isn't too loud. I personally love the way mine sounds, even more so now since today was the first time I've driven my car in a month.

I didn't know that Loudmouths were available with quad CENTER outlets?

I liked my loudmouth sound. Then when I went with the offroad y-pipe I added some resonator tips and a bullet muffler to calm things down.

revving in neutral (yea yea i know) to about 4.5k.. taken inside the car with the windows down.. Oh, I have an bullet muffler instead of the "resonator"... made it a tad more smoother.
sounds alot cripser in person.
Its plenty loud.. may be a little too loud when your not on it though.
