Low oil pressure and slight overheating

Low oil pressure and slight overheating
I was racing my 98 Camaro Z28 ls1 around a parking lot after a fresh snow. I noticed that my oil pressure runs at 40 at an idle and up to about 60 with throttle. After a few min of high rpms and burnouts I noticed it was running 210-220 on the temp and was stuggling to drop and didn't. Along with that the OIL PRESSURE WAS AT 20 and under trottle got up to 24-25. I didnt notice any noises or a loss of power but I didnt want to push it. After I parked it I didnt notice any oil spilling out or smell/hear any burning off the engine but it was dark so im not 100% sure. Any help?!?

Re: Low oil pressure and slight overheating
Makes sense but i drove it about 10 blocks home and the temp wouldnt drop. It was freezing out and the thermostat is about 185 so would only 40 degrees make the oil half as thin?

Ya,because the water is what cools the oil down. So if your oil is that hot it takes a while to get rid of the heat. If you would have gotten on the freeway it would have taken a minute or so to see the temp start to come down. 210 to 220 isn't anything to worry about, unless you were running 60mph and it stayed there.

Just guessing, but driving the car to see if it runs normal after warming up would the best way to really check it. See if anything seems different than the time before you drove it last. Just keep a close eye on it for now. Hopefully no engine damage occured and you will be just fine.

Good call. I drove it around and it was running good. I guess just those high rpms without any air flow through the engine caused it to heat up. Im glad I caught it and didnt push it tho. Thanks!
