LS1 500RWHP Recipes

Hey guys I have a 2000 Z28 super clean that I’m looking to get a bump in power. I know people say heads/cam/exhaust/tune is fairly close but I’m not not familiar with good heads for the ls1 or anything like that. But budget budget budget is the goal !! Anyone have any suggestions on real experience instead of the ‘I’ve heard that this and this go well together’ ? I look on threads and see people say I’ve heard but I’m looking for some real experience if possible. I’ve been digging and can’t really find what I’m looking for. Links would be appreciated also !! Thanks a bunch in advance guys.

Quick question….. are you sure you want 500 HP at the rear wheels? Makes a difference. If rear wheel, are you running the T56 or 4L60E?

I'll move this to “LS1 Based Engine Tech”. I will caution you - like most bulletin board based sites, traffic on this site has disappeared. What traffic is here is mostly LT1 users. But hopefully a knowledgeable LS1 owner will chime in.

Site with good info on porting stock LTx heads:

I forgot to say I won't be milling the heads down at all. I like my modern-day cam and can't have the funds for to unfastened any of the little PTV clearance I'll have with the 243's.

What does this response have to do with your question about a coolant leak from the throttle body? Appears you don’t understand that your thread has been moved to the correct “LT1 Based Engine Tech” forum.
