LS1/6 swap into 95z28

Im thinking of doing a LS1 or 6 swap into my 95 z28. All i would like to know is what would i need to do it, and how much would it cost? Aside of the motor, i know its going to be a few grand. Any help would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

k-member, can be found used for 50, or 400 or so for a tubular
motor mounts - 150 for spohn solids

if you are using a lt1 4l60e you would also need the flexplate spacer which is around 50 IIRC

The wiring harness you can get with the motor, along w/ the computer, etc.

Its really a pretty straight forward swap IMO.

would an ls1 hook straight up to a t56 in a 94z28? Would you have to change anything in that area?

Im pretty sure they are not compatible. The clutches and input shafts are different. Sell the t56 you have and try to find a LSx/6 speed combo for sale instead.

the LT1 t56 cannot be used, but an LT1 4l60E can be.

Can it really? Because that would make me very happy since I'll be ordering my Level 2 Performabuilt this spring. And I have yet to decide if I want to build a turbo 355 LT1 next or use an LQ9 block and go from there.

yes, you just need a flywheel spacer. Part from hughes is HUP-HP3750 if i remember correctly. I have one laying in the garage I can double check wednesday or thursday

The 4L60E needs to be 95 or newer because they switched to pulse width modulated torque converter lock up.
