Also, he obviously has the FAST 90 setup, but he's being very skeptical with his short answers. I've owned 6 LS1 cars -- only one stock one. 450rwhp with a big cam AND a FAST 90/90 almost NEVER happens -- unless you're on a generous dyno --- or running an LS6 motor with LS6 heads.
+1 also doesn't he say it doesn't make peak numbers till like 6k? big cam spinning the hell out of it

I didn't read it, but if I had to guess, I'd say peak HP at around 6800 and peak torque at a miserable near 5000.

LT1 is strong, but the biggest drawback is that it is tough to work on, especially in an F-body. LS1 totally kicks it's *** in serviceability. You can definitely make good power with them though, no doubt about that.

Since when are LT1's hard to work on?
Only complaint i ever hear is plug access.

Its all about what you can find in your price range i promise you'll enjoy a ltx just as much as a lsx or vice versa, if i bought another f-body i would go to a lsx because they are now affordable cars.

If your Decision on a platform is decided by 2k dollars your not going to be top dog in either, its all a who has bigger wallet

But to add Fuel to the Fire on the silly debate above.

Does the name Andy Katzelis ring a bell?

I am a LT1 owner and will admit the LS1 is better if you want the best numbers. From what I heard is that the fastest LS1 is only a hair faster then the fastest LT1. I get LS1 owners that love the sound of my LT1. I will never buy a LS1. I just love the look of my LT1 with the black and white scheme it just screams sex with the chrome annv rims and limo tints. I get so many compliments from girls and respect from older people and import drivers. LT1 are fun and you can make them as fast as a LS1 but you have to do your homework.

I love the underdog and for a motor that was design and built in 1990 it was the first 300HP motor and it made the Mustangs look like shi* inside and out.

I know you must prove that every time you have a chance at a stop light.I am so tired of LS1 owners still bragging. If you want speed by a street bike.Yes the LT1 is an old motor but it still keeps up which is impressive. I notice out of 15 LS1 owners I know in my area, they are D-bags.

If you wants impressive numbers buy LS1 if you want to have fun and live life buy an LT1.

So what you're saying is that all LS1 owners are douchebags and slower LT1s are more fun than faster LS1s.
Well then the wife and I must be triple douchebags that don't have any fun then because we own 3 LS1s

He can't even prove that everytime he's at a stoplight. He likes to think that just because most LS1's are faster than LT1 that his LS1 is faster than all LT1's. He uses other peoples dyno sheets and world records to make himself feel better. I have no doubt that I'd blow the doors off of his full bolt on LS1. Even after his future mods of intake and pulleys, hell throw a nice cam in there too. I don't care if he's doesn't have the heads done and I do. I've got an N/A stock bottom end, A4, 10 bolt rear, full interior, stock headed, stock intake, stock tb LT1 that regularly beats the pants off of stock, bolt on and cammed LSX powered cars. I've not yet encountered any H/C/I cars in my area. And the great thing is, I've still got a long way to go before I've maxed out my streetability. My heads have barely been touched, there's still 2 more stages through the shop I use until they're considered maxed out. Bigger TB and ported intake still to come as well as a forged bottom end. Anything faster than an N/A 10 second car is too much for the street in my opinion. And if the street is where you spend most of your time then it's ok to buy an LT1 regardless of what some of the elitists might tell you. Do the LS1 have better world record times? Yes. Do they, on average, produce more power? Yes. But it's not hard to turn your LT1 into whatever you want it to be. 12 second car, 11 second car, 10 second car, 9 second car. I chose the LT1 for it's looks and sound. I already knew it made solid power and it had great potential. I could have gone with an LS1 or even an 03/04 Cobra if I wanted to shatter world records. That's not the goal. I've already accomplished plenty by spanking many of the local LSX crowd and I've had a blast doing it... sounding and looking good at the same time. And like you mentioned, the underdog roll always was my favorite.

One more thing you'll notice about LSX owners is... the majority of them paid more than we did for our cars. The majority of them also paid a lot more for their mods. So don't take it personal, they just have to justify to themselves why they spent that extra money. And FYI, LS1's never lose to LT1's. You'll likely never hear anyone on this board admit that anyway. If you do, it'll be followed by a very lame excuse.

Why hatin?? We should hate Fords, it's so odd after all these years LS1 owners really hate LT1 owners. I wonder why. I also notice that my friends that have LS1 based cars were bought from mommy or daddy. Most LT1 owners worked hard for there cars and work on them with there own hands. I respect LT1 owners.

That is true about if you have a 10 sec car on the street that is just to much. If you want to race on the street's everyday and brag your a d-bag. I got my hot girl with a loud LT1 I'm happy and don't have to prove anything.

So maybe your built LS1 can run 8's, on the street 98% of cars are lucky to run 14's

I think the guy should buy a LS1 car. Better to work on, several years newer, amazing heads and intake... I think unless you get a cream puff LT1 that some guy really took good care of, it is going to be more trouble than you bargain for and if you aren't expecting that then it's going to be a dissapointment.
