hey guys...

yeah i've been gone for awhile... army eod is the answer, yes... been in training for over a year now... bout to head to my first real duty station at ft. drum new york... i'll be in the 725th ord support DET until my real unit (the 760th) from ft dicks moves up there... i'll be a part of a brigade combat team (one of three at ft. drum) and will be directly attached with 10th mountain division, tentatively scheduled to be standing up and deploying to afghanistan this september.

but yeah anyways...

say i didn't want to do a conversion or anything... how do i simply replace what ive got in there now for a new one? can i? i don't even know where it is heh...

Big black tube on the passenger side of the intake where it hooks to the intake, the PCV is inside that tube.

Yep, you'll feel the PCV inside the soft tubing. Most LSxs use some oil because of the low-tension ring pack...

NOTE: You must have the 2001+ style coolant vent tube as well for the LS6 valley cover to fit! All 2001+ LS1's will have this, and any LS1's that have upgraded to the "LS6 manifold" and pipes will also have the new coolant vent tube.

are they referring to the tb bypass?

I have a good chance of going back to Afghanistan this september too. We worked w/ the 10th MTN last year a little. You'll have your hands full up there! Soviet Land mines ALL OVER!

Go take a look at the front of your block, right above the water pump by the head. Look for a bullseye mark. If it is NOT there, you have an LS6 block already (possible since you have an 02) and an LS6 pcv conversion would be alot easier.

Mine either. No one I know personally has an LS1 that burns oil. I have heard lots about others though.

My LS1 has a small crack in the oil pan and it still doesn't use/ leak as much oil as some of you says yours does. In all my years of mechanicing I've never seen or owned a vehicle that just uses oil. If it's using that much oil under normal driving something needs to be fixed. My first thought would be the valve seals. All you would need is the seals, valve spring compressor, and compressed air to hold the valves up so you could do the valves in the car.
