ls1 trying to die

i bought an ls1 camaro a while back it has a few mods lt headers fastchips ported maf. cold air induction. and the car after cruising for awile it tryies to die but i rev it up and it works fine. and occansionally when it does it i rev it up and it will smoke grayish black smoke that is what my sisters husband said the color of it was. my question is will the fuel pressure be causing this i bought the car with a adjustable feul regulator i was told it is sat at 61 pounds of pressure. could this be the cause of it doing this thanks abunch alos i have a gauge on the way to be sure where it is sat at.

Maybe you need to replace the fuel filter.

Do you have an aftermarket cam? Mine has the LS1 Hotcam, and has not been tuned yet. It does exactly what yours does, with the added fact that I usually have to keep it alive for a bit when I turn it back on after it's been off for just a little bit. A nice dyno tune will cure mine though, and it may also cure yours

You know that "guessing" gets expensive. But since your guessing- I would have to say change the plugs out. From what I understand, you was running way too rich- seems like it would foul out the plugs.
